Project Description

De Lafe is the architect of Montreal’s jazz-rap.
An emerging artist from Montreal, he builds a universe where auteur cinema collides with the raw energy of francophone rap. His music, introspective and organic, is designed as a sonic long take: every track is a scene, every word an image.

Through songs like Oasis Palomine, which hooks the ear within seconds, or Eltrac, a track listeners persistently save, De Lafe proves his ability to blend narrative structure with emotional impact.

His audience? Young French speakers from Canada, France, and the United States — often reached through playlists, drawn in by his dense lyrics and film-like aesthetic.

More than a rapper, De Lafe is a world-builder. He writes, films, and composes with the same poetic rigor. In his visuals and music videos, he captures the margins: Montreal’s back alleys, blurred dreams, the glitches of memory.

With limited means but immense vision, he turns the ordinary into storytelling. Every project is a stone in his edifice: that of a sensitive, deliberate, rooted, and free rap.
